Susan Gregg Rice founded Rice Sterling and Associates (originally QuickRun Accounting) in 2006 while working full-time as Controller for a large non-profit in the Washington DC area. In 2008, Sue left her job to devote her energy solely to her business and build the “CPA firm of the future” that focused on the Entrepreneur.
Following the recession, 2011-2012 saw tremendous growth and the addition of several key employees. In 2013, QuickRun Accounting began a partnership with Dennis Piper and Associates, a traditional CPA firm from Pittsburgh, Pa. and changed the name to Rice Piper and Associates. After a successful collaboration, the decision was made in 2015 to return to the company’s roots – Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting with an eye on the new technologies for efficiency and accuracy.
The name was changed to Rice Sterling and Associates. With a client base of mainly non-profit organizations and government contractors in the small- to mid-market range, Rice Sterling has developed a specialty niche in providing organizations DCAA and grant reporting compliant accounting systems with QuickBooks combined with a strong timesheet system.
